Default by Design
Most of us believe we are fair. Most of us are wrong—not because we are bad people, but because the systems we grew up in taught us what normal looks like, and we absorbed it without question. Default by Design is a game that holds up a mirror. Through four short rounds of scenario-based questions, players encounter their own assumptions about disability, productivity, accessibility, and innovation. At the end, each player receives an archetype—not a verdict, but a starting point. A way in to the conversation we need to be having before the next AI system gets built, the next policy gets written, the next classroom gets designed. No expertise required. Just a willingness to look.
Ableism operates as a default in everyday thinking—and when those assumptions go unexamined, they get built into the policies, technologies, and AI systems shaping our world.
Default by Design uses scenario-based gameplay and archetype reflection to help participants recognize their own assumptions about disability, productivity, and innovation—before they scale.

The website suffered from slow load times and a cluttered design, making navigation difficult for users. Visitors struggled to find information quickly, leading to high bounce rates. The lack of mobile responsiveness further alienated a significant portion of the audience.
I redesigned the website with a focus on speed and user-friendly navigation. Streamlined layouts and clean designs improved user experience. Implementing responsive design ensured optimal performance across all devices. I upgraded the content management system for easier updates and maintenance.
